College Football Rankings 2019: Projected Top 25, Week 7 – Florida climbs

SMU found themselves behind for most of their home game against division rival Tulsa on Saturday night in Dallas. But a late comeback allowed the Mustangs to tie the game on a fourth-down play with just over a minute remaining in regulation, and they prevailed in triple overtime 43-37 over the Golden Hurricane to secure a 6-0 start for the first time since their undefeated 1982 season.
Xavier Jones ran in the tying score to force extra time, and he finished the night with 121 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. The close call might drop the Mustangs down a spot in the poll, but thanks to the other chaos around the country they will remain in the AP Top 25 for a second straight week. A bye in Week 7 could knock them back out of the poll depending on what happens, but they will get a chance to secure a Top 25 spot against Temple and Houston in late October.
