Thanks to the UCF loss this week, Memphis has the most to gain as the one of the last two remaining undefeated teams in the American Athletic Conference. The Tigers took care of business in Louisiana against UL-Monroe, toppling the Warhawks 52-33 to complete their non-conference schedule still undefeated at 5-0 in the standings.

Kenneth Gainwell had another huge game as the lead back, rushing for 209 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 14 carries. Gainwell also caught three passes for 42 yards to finish with more than 250 all-purpose yards. Brady White was also solid at quarterback, throwing for 249 yards and three touchdowns on 15-of-23 passing as the Tigers finished with more than 500 yards of offense.

The Tigers are going to push up into the AP Top 25 this week thanks to the loss by the Knights, taking over that vacancy left in the poll by their AAC rival. Mike Norvell’s team has a huge test in Week 7 when they head to Philadelphia for an interdivisional battle against Temple, and both Tulane and Tulsa also loom on the October schedule.
