1. Something has to change for Michigan State

It seems like Michigan State has been in a rut for the past few years and nothing has really changed. The defense continues to be stellar, but the offense can’t keep up. And, I would not go as far to say that it’s a lack of talented players. The Spartans don’t have an especially difficult time recruiting capable players out of high school.

Therefore, it seems as though the coaching staff is the next plausible place to look. Mark Dantonio is a solid coach who has proven he can win big games. He has proven he knows what it takes to be competitive in the Big Ten. So, I won’t suggest that he should be on the hot seat.

But, his offensive coordinator? The entire staff?

Coach Dantonio shifted around his offensive coaching staff this past offseason and named Brad Salem as the new offensive coordinator. Although, production has been good against weaker teams, the Spartans have shown significant inconsistencies. It may be time to change the offensive staff completely.
