3.Ladies and gentlemen, welcome Sean Clifford to the stage

The Trace McSorley era is over at Penn State. The record-setting quarterback is with the Baltimore Ravens now but it doesn’t seem like the Penn State offense is missing him all that much — or at all. Sean Clifford has picked up right where McSorley left off, and has taken the reins of the Penn State offense.

While completing just under 67 percent of his passes, Clifford has thrown for over 1,100 yards, nine touchdowns to just one interception and ranks 19th in the nation with a 76.7 QBR. That’s quite a start for the Nittany Lions’ new signal-caller.

So can Clifford continue this success in October? You’re darn right he can and yes he will. Clifford not only keeps his team going but also improves his stats. He will throw for 1,300 yards and totals 13 touchdowns for the month. If not for the rushing attack by the “Lawn Boys”, Clifford could have an even more stellar month.

Clifford is no Justin Fields, but that’s what makes this even better. Clifford seems to have that same fire in his belly as McSorley and could be on pace to break some of his records. If you don’t know Clifford’s name now, you will after October ends.
