Texas Tech football surprised the rest of the Big 12 with a win over Oklahoma State on Saturday. What’d we learn from the Red Raiders’ victory?

Texas Tech entered its game against No. 21 Oklahoma State with already having two defeats on the season but the Red Raiders were not about to get their third loss against the Cowboys.

This game was not a defensive battle but a game of what offense can put the most points on the board.

Down in Lubbock, Texas, which has witnessed its fair share of great offensive performances in the past, fans were treated yet again to great Big 12 offensive performances by both Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

The game itself featured 1,095 yards of total offense with Texas Tech’s passing game accounting for 424 of those yards and Oklahoma State had 219 yards rushing on 56 attempts. The game also saw five touchdowns from both teams as they were able to find the endzone with regularity.

The Red Raiders, however, had a better overall game and let’s take a look at how they out-performed the Cowboys in other facets of the game that lead to the upset.
