It was a weekend of upsets in Big 12 football. Who rose and who fell? Baylor may have finally shaken the “pretender” tag with another big win.

It was quite the week in the Big 12. It was a full slate this week — no byes everyone and played. The cream is beginning to rise to the top, and whatever settles to the bottom is no longer in contention.

The Sooners were the Sooners, driving their wagon train all over Lawrence, Kan., and the Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas put out great effort, but it’s clear they need time before they have Big 12 level players. The West Virginia Mountaineers had three turnovers in a 42-31 loss to the Texas Longhorns. Kansas State continues to struggle on offense as they mustered one offensive touchdown against the Baylor Bears.

Speaking of the Bears, they are playing as well as any team in the Big 12 this side of Norman.

Mike Gundy lost his annual one he’s not supposed to lose against the Red Raiders and a quarterback named after a Little Einsteins character (Jett for those of you that don’t have small kids). Without two fourth-quarter touchdowns, the Horned Frogs defeat would look worse, but it was a beatdown at the hands of the Cyclones.

This week we have shootouts by the Red River, the Red Raiders going to Waco for the first time in over a decade, and the Cyclones going to West Virginia for a Big 12 conference game.

With that, and all due respect to Barry Switzer and the game which coined the phrase, “Hang half-a-hundred on ’em” the Red River Shootout, here are your Big 12 power rankings going into Week 7.
