The college football world was shaken up last week as one of the top-ranked Group of Five teams was taken down. Who will be next to fall in the G5?

The Cincinnati Bearcats rocked the college football world as they took down No. 18 UCF at home last Friday night. After very little other excitement in the Group of Five games last week, four teams now rank inside of the top 25 in national polls.

We have Boise State sitting atop all of the Group of Five at No. 16 in the country with SMU, Memphis and Cincinnati sitting just a couple of spots behind. All four teams now have positioned themselves to have a shot at a New Year’s Six bowl and find themselves fighting each week to claim the top spot.

Boise State is coming off of a win against UNLV who drops to 1-3, in a game where the offense disappointed once again and showed major weaknesses on the offensive line. The Broncos escaped with a 38-13 win and improved to 5-0 on the season. Boise State now comes home to play Hawaii in a game that has been marked on the calendar for a couple of months.

The American Athletic Conference now touts three teams within the top 25 with SMU, Memphis, and Cincinnati all getting the nod. Both Cincinnati and Memphis have tough games on the road against conference rivals and could be on the hot seat this week.

A couple of teams are knocking on the door in the Group of Five having just one loss, these teams will all need these four to slip up in the coming weeks to have a shot at a New Year’s Six bowl. We will see if the ranked teams show up this Saturday to defend their claims to the big bowls. Here are three teams that could be on upset alert this week.
