Welcome back to the watch. We continue to find the one qualified to represent the Group of Five in the New Year’s Six — winter is coming.

This week on the watch we said goodbye to a stalwart member of the watch, the Central Florida Knights. They were handed their second loss by the hands of their nemesis, the Cincinnati Bearcats.

We have a new candidate for the watch in the Tulane Green Wave. They overwhelmed the Army Black Knights with their speed in West Point last Saturday.

The Mustangs survived expulsion from the list by surviving against Tulane in three overtimes. The Memphis Tigers showed their offensive might against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks scoring 52 points. The Bearcats roared against the Golden Knights, and the Broncos squashed the Rebels in Las Vegas.

These teams have all proven their worth, but falter and there are some from the small kingdom of Boone, N.C., ready to answer the call and join the watch. Winter and the New Year’s Six is coming so here is the New Year’s Six watch coming into Week 7.
