3. North Texas at Southern Miss

The winner of this game will put themselves in the drivers seat of the West division in the C-USA.

Right now, both teams are 1-0 in conference and boast impressive offenses. North Texas is led by senior quarterback Mason Fine, who has been the conferences offensive player of the year the past two years. The North Texas offense has yet to fully hit its stride, though, and they will be looking to be in sync this weekend.

Southern Miss is led by quarterback Jack Abraham who was one of the most accurate passers in all of college football last year, but has taken his game to the next level. The Southern Miss offense is “new and improved” you could say as they have been taking deep shots left and right. Southern Miss has plenty of weapons for Abraham to throw to as well.

Whoever wins this game will still have to face UAB and Louisiana Tech out of the west, but a win here would sure go a long way for each program.

Recapping reasons to watch

  • Huge C-USA West game
  • Two of the best quarterbacks in conference
  • Southern Miss is a 3-point favorite
