Oklahoma football has a tough task trying to get past Texas in Week 7. How will the Sooners stay in the top ten and get the win in the Red River Rivalry?

There is no denying that Oklahoma football has been a force to be reckoned within the past few years. Hosting the last two Heisman winners and now having senior quarterback Jalen Hurts as one of the front runners to win the trophy once again. They have started off the season now 5-0 and ranked No. 6 in the country.

Coming into the Red River Rivalry Oklahoma has looked like they have one of the best offenses in the country. Scoring over 50 points a game and having 660 yards of total offense a game on average, Lincoln Riley has his Sooner team off and running even with a new quarterback at the helm after losing his Heisman winner.

We should see much of the same on Saturday as Texas’s defense has had struggles defending the pass which has been a strength of Oklahoma. What is really going to be tested is the defense for the Sooners to see if they can hold up against a really tough quarterback in Sam Ehlinger and great outside receivers that are going to be a threat deep all game.

Everyone knows the Sooners can put up the points, now it is time to see if they can play well in all three phases and show out on defense. If we see the Sooners lock up the Longhorns and play well on both sides, we could see the Sooners crack the top four in the nation which would put them in a prime position to compete for a national title.

The Sooners will take down Texas on Saturday, and here’s why.
