3. Suffocate Texas A&M’s offense

Texas A&M has been marginal, at best, offensively. Alabama must not allow the Aggie offense to get any confidence. They have to stuff the Aggie offense early and often. This is a young defense that has some depth and injury issues, but they have athletes on every level of their defense. The Crimson Tide have to take advantage of the Aggies’ inconsistent offensive line play.

Alabama can’t give an inch to the Aggie offense. The Crimson Tide want as many possessions as possible. Texas A&M can’t run the ball, or take shots downfield consistently so this is an opportunity for Alabama’s pass rush to come alive.

Every opportunity the Crimson Tide have to get Texas A&M off the field, they have to force punts. They must get Kellen Mond scrambling and have to turn him over.

Defensively, the Tide can contain the Aggies offense. One thing Texas A&M hasn’t done well this season is run the ball. Alabama’s goal in this game is to ensure the Aggies are one dimensional, and then get pressure on Mond. He hasn’t been good when under pressure, and Alabama needs to keep it that way.
