3. Florida has best pass defense in college football

The Gators currently rank in the top-10 in the following categories: total defense, defensive pass efficiency, scoring defense and sacks.

They also are best in the country in takeaways, with 17 on the season.

LSU ranks No. 2 in total offense and passing offense, but that passing dependency plays right into the Gators’ hand. This defense is truly special, with a dynamic pass rush with Jonathan Greenard and Jabari Zuniga, combined with CJ Henderson now healthy leading one of the best secondaries in the country.

The Gators have a major advantage in the turnover category, and the Tigers dropping back to pass every play could play right into the Gators’ hands. I expect multiple turnovers in this one.

Another spot the Gators rank No. 1 is in red zone defense. In 14 attempts, the Gators have allowed three touchdowns. They simply do not let teams get seven points very often, and the Tigers will struggle to get touchdowns in this one at the rate they have this season, leaving the defense to make stops. Which brings us to reason No. 2.
