Clemson Football: 3 takeaways from dominant win over Florida State
By Zach Bigalke
Clemson football finally put together its most complete performance of 2019 in a blowout of Florida State. Here is what we learned.
Over the first six weeks of the 2019 season, Clemson has hardly looked like the defending College Football Playoff national champion. Narrowly escaping North Carolina and generally looking listless for large stretches of games, the Tigers have been nowhere near as dominant as recent vintages on the field.
Perhaps they finally shook themselves out of the doldrums at home in Week 7, as they toppled Florida State in a 45-14 blowout to stay among the ranks of the undefeated. After losing their grip on the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 and looking like they might possibly fall further down the poll, Clemson finally put together a complete performance to topple the Seminoles.
That should be enough to keep the Tigers at No. 2 for another week as they head into the back half of the regular season with momentum and newfound confidence. With four ACC victories under their belt, the Tigers remain the team to beat in the conference.
Is the ship back on track after looking like a well-oiled machine against Florida State? Here are three things lessons to take away from the Tigers blowout.
