South Carolina’s upset in Athens will shake up the top of this week’s AP Top 25. Here are the full Top 25 projections as we enter college football’s Week 8.

With so many undefeated teams at the start of Week 7, it felt inevitable that one or two might drop their first contest of the season. Few would have predicted that it would be Georgia stumbling between the hedges at home against South Carolina, especially as the Gamecocks were forced to go deep into their quarterback depth chart after starter Ryan Hilinski went down with a knee injury. But the Bulldogs did fall in overtime, setting up a major reshuffling at the top of the AP Top 25 this week.

Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart did their best to outdo one another with odd coaching decisions, but ultimately it was special teams that decided the game. South Carolina missed their chance to end the game in the first overtime when Parker White missed a 33-yard field goal for the Gamecocks. White atoned for the miss in the second overtime frame, converting from 24 yards out and putting the pressure on Georgia.

After D’Andre Swift was stuffed for no gain and Jake Fromm threw a pair of incomplete passes, Rodrigo Blankenship lined up for a 42-yard attempt to send the game to a third overtime. The veteran had already missed once earlier in the game, and he pulled the ball wide as Georgia got bounced from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Four ranked teams are set to drop out of the AP Top 25 this week. Memphis and Wake Forest joined Georgia as both teams suffered their first losses of the year against Temple and Louisville respectively, while Virginia dropped their Friday-night showdown at Miami to fall to 4-2 and Texas A&M falling at home against top-ranked Alabama as the Aggies lost their third game of the year.

Who will jump up, and how will things look on Sunday when the AP voters decide on their Top 25 heading into Week 8? Keep reading for our latest Top 25 projections at Saturday Blitz.
