Oregon Football: 3 takeaways from blowout win over Colorado

2. Justin Herbert was finally unleashed
Oregon opened the game throwing, and with good reason. The Buffaloes started five true freshman in this game, including two in their defensive backfield.
This was a game, however, that Justin Herbert needed.
Everyone knows his potential as an NFL prospect, but that was something we’ve yet to see this season but we witnessed it on Friday night. Herbert was 18-for-32 for 261 yards and two scores.
What’s more important than his numbers was the fact the coaching staff let him throw the ball all over the field. He had completions to eight different receivers, and they let him push the ball down the field and show off that incredible arm. His receivers dropped a few passes, but he threw some incredible balls downfield to his receivers. He showed off the arm strength, and the incredible touch on many of his throws.
The rest of the Pac-12 is in trouble if Herbert continues to throw like he did against Colorado.
