1. Turnovers were part of the story

Maryland was dysfunctional all day today. Part of the issue for Maryland were the turnovers. Tyrell Pigrome threw two bad interceptions, but that only told part of the story for the Terrapins.

First, one of those interceptions was a pix six by Cory Trice who had both interceptions for the Boilermakers. The Terrapins were only down by nine before that pick-six made it a 30-14 deficit.

The Terps kept shooting themselves in the foot with penalties as well. The Terrapins had nine penalties for 67 yards. They needed to stay on schedule to help their back up quarterback, and penalties hurt them. The Terrapins had three explosive plays today, but couldn’t sustain drives at all in this game.

Purdue did a fantastic job of keeping everything in front of them defensively and not give away free yards with defensive penalties.
