3. Capitalize on defense

It is no secret that the Stanford Cardinal have been subpar on defense in 2019. Scoring only 20 points a game and barely getting the passing game going at all has hindered the Cardinal from scoring a ton of points and keeping up with the high flying offenses of the Pac-12.

Thursday night will be a great opportunity for the Bruins to capitalize on a team that struggles to move the ball and rewrites some of the struggles they have had on their own accord defensively.

The Bruin defense has given up over 500 yards a game in their first six games and especially struggles against the passing game. The scouting report on the Cardinal will be a run-first team that will surprise you through the air on play action. This will play right into the hand of the Bruin defense and they will have to capitalize big time upfront.

If the UCLA defense is able to stop the rushing attack, this will put the Bruins in great position to win the game on the road. They have given up 37 points a game on average and are looking for something they can take and run with. This could be the week they are able to turn it around big time.
