1. UCLA pulls off the upset

OK, maybe I am a little crazy, but I just think it’s a matter of time before UCLA pulls off a momentum-building win and heads back in the right direction. Chip Kelly is too good a coach to allow a 1-6 start and need to win out in order to attain bowl eligibility, right?

I would think so, but the Bruins need a massive rebuild and the second-year coach is smack-dab in the middle of one as we speak. Still, this is a game that the Bruins could easily win.

Stanford is playing with an ailing starting quarterback in KJ Costello who has missed some time and given way to Davis Mills. Not knowing the starter could help the Bruins here but so could the fact that the Cardinal defense is not what it used to be.

Kelly has won an improbable game on the road before this season, so don’t count them out against an average Stanford squad which is still searching for its identity.

I’m going out on a limb by predicting a UCLA win and I’ll say it’s something in the range of 30-24. Kelly will get the “Fire Chip” crowd off his back for the week.
