Oklahoma football is coming off a gigantic win in the Red River Shootout as it remains undefeated. Can it avoid a letdown at home against West Virginia?
Oklahoma is coming off of its biggest win of 2019 so far with a win over No. 11 Texas last week. A game that came down to the wire that had everything you would expect it would, with Jalen Hurts taking over and accounting for over 360 total yards.
With the win on Saturday, Oklahoma improved to 6-0 and moved all the way up to No. 5 in the country. The Sooners are now knocking on the door of the College Football Playoff (CFP) and control their own destiny.
Jalen Hurts had another spectacular game on Saturday with three touchdowns through the air and another score using his legs to get in the endzone. He has now accounted for 25 total touchdowns and over 630 yards rushing. Hurts has really put himself at the forefront of the Heisman conversation having a big moment against a big-time rival in Texas.
West Virginia comes into Norman, Oklahoma with a 3-3 record and dropping their last two games at home. Now the Mountaineers go on the road against Oklahoma in a game that could be a sneaky good one. West Virginia is playing with nothing to lose and has played tough against some really good teams in the past couple of weeks. Coming down to the wire on Texas and losing control in the second half against Iowa State, the Mountaineers could surprise people.
The Mountaineers may not have enough to win on Saturday, but they are currently 33.5-point underdogs on the road. This is a spread that you rarely see in college football, especially with two conference opponents. Hurts is primed to have a great day once again at home with the Sooner faithful coming out in droves.
