Baylor Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Oklahoma State in Week 8
By Dante Pryor
3. Baylor’s offense has a field day
The key issue with Oklahoma State losing two of its last three is the defense. Not only are they allowing around 30 points per game, they are giving up almost 250 yards passing this season. The Cowboys haven’t gotten to the quarterback much this season producing only eight sacks. Charlie Brewer is one of the best quarterbacks no one talks about.
They might not have the name recognition like Chuba Hubbard or Tylan Wallace, but the Bears have some talented skilled position players as well. The Bears have three running backs John Lovett, JyMycal Hasty and Trestan Ebner who all average over 5.0 yards per carry. They all have at least two rushing touchdowns as well. Denzel Mims and Tyquan Thornton both average over 15 yards per catch and have eight combined receiving touchdowns.
That spells trouble for a defense that doesn’t get to the quarterback and defend the pass very well. Baylor doesn’t have a reputation for being an offense that scores in volume, but the Oklahoma State defense hasn’t played well their last three games and if given time, Brewer will pick you apart.
