LSU Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Mississippi State in Week 8
1. LSU scores 50
If you were to tell me before the season that LSU would have an offense that averaged over 50 points per game through Week 7, I would have called you nuts and personally would have checked you in to the nearest institution. But that’s exactly what the Tigers have been putting up to this point in the year.
In fact, LSU averages 52.5 points per game which is good for the No. 1 mark in college football and they’ll only help that number with another 50-point outing against Mississippi State.
The way Joe Burrow is playing right now, coupled with some elite targets at wide receiver and Clyde Edwards-Helaire being one of the more underrated running backs in the country and you have an offense that can drop anywhere between 50-60 points at any given moment.
A week ago, the Tigers dropped 42 on a strong Florida defense that was considered one of the best in the country and they even scored 45 on Texas earlier in the season. The Tigers have topped 50 points three times this season and 60 points twice.
Add another 50-point outing on Saturday afternoon for Ed Orgeron and Co.
