A streaking SMU football team takes on the Temple Owls at home in Week 8. Will the Mustang’s be able to keep their undefeated season alive?

SMU comes into Saturday ranked No. 19 in the country and hopes to keep their undefeated 6-0 season alive as they host the Temple Owls. The Mustangs have taken care of business in the first seven weeks of the season, beating a ranked TCU team and knocking on the door of Boise State as the highest-ranked Group of Five team in the nation.

SMU comes into the matchup with one of the best offensive attacks in the country with an average of 44 points a game scored and almost 500 yards of total offense. SMU barely escaped Tulsa last week as the Golden Hurricanes took the Mustangs into triple overtime.

The Temple Owls come into Dallas as one of the hottest teams in the country, coming off of a win against No. 23 Memphis on the road last week. Although the Owl’s are not ranked yet in 2019, they are receiving votes as of last week. Temple has rattled off three wins in a row and look to take down their second-ranked team in just as many weeks.

SMU will have to unleash their offensive firepower with Shane Buechele at the helm for the Mustangs. We will see SMU not only put their undefeated season on the line but their New Year’s Six hopes are also on the line. Here are three bold predictions for this AAC matchup on Saturday afternoon.
