1. Hit the ground running

SMU got extremely lucky last week against Tulsa being able to force multiple turnovers in the second half to complete a massive comeback after being down by 14-plus most of the game. The Mustangs came roaring back after an abysmal first half where their offense was shut down and they did not show any signs of life on defense either.

Temple is not a team that you can get behind and come back on very easily. They like to eat up the clock and run the ball straight into the teeth of the defense. If SMU gets down early, do not expect the Mustangs to behind to mount the same comeback they were able to last week against the Golden Hurricanes.

Shane Buechele and the Mustangs will have to figure it out early with their home crowd behind them in order to take down Temple. Temple is coming into this game on a high after last week’s win against a ranked opponent. If SMU starts off slow, look for the panic button Mustang fans.
