Down 17-0, Arkansas football was trying to fool Auburn on a fourth-and-11, but the fake punt was arguably one of the worst you’ll ever see.

When you’re home, you sometimes have the upset magic working in your favor. Well, that’s what Arkansas was hoping for on Saturday afternoon against No. 11 Auburn, but the Razorbacks just couldn’t conjure any up.

Down 17-0, Chad Morris thought he’d get a little cheeky and try a fake punt on a fourth-and-11 from his own 41-yard-line and, well, it backfired.

Just take a look at what might go down as one of the worst fake punts you’ll ever see:

I mean, this is a big yikes. Arkansas’ punter Sam Loy wasn’t even close. I get the idea the Razorbacks had, though. They had a streaking would-be receiver going across the backfield and the idea was to flip the ball to him for a first down catch and run.

That didn’t quite happen.

The Razorbacks are having a rough season so far and things aren’t getting much better after a likely loss to the Tigers on Saturday afternoon, dropping to 2-5 on the season.

Arkansas has one of the toughest teams to coach in all of college football because of the large talent gap between the Razorbacks and the rest of the SEC. Morris has a massive rebuild on his hands and he’s only in year two.

This fake punt fail is sadly the encapsulation of the last couple of seasons for the Razorbacks in one play.
