TCU Football: 3 takeaways from ugly loss at Kansas State
2. Passing was not an option for TCU
There’s a major quarterback problem in Fort Worth.
Max Duggan may be the starter, but he hasn’t been all that great this season and if Saturday was any indication of what’s ahead for the Horned Frogs, passing may not be an option for this offense. Duggan just doesn’t seem to have the “it” factor with his arm as he went just 16-for-29 with 132 yards and no scores.
If the Horned Frogs are going to right the ship, they might have to turn to another quarterback. Alex Delton wasn’t much better, though, as he completed both of his passes for just six yards.
Maybe we aren’t giving Kansas State’s defense enough credit. The Wildcats did hold TCU to just 138 yards through the air — but they did allow over 220 yards on the ground.
Duggan brings that dual-threat element to the quarterback position, but he couldn’t seem to get anything going on the road against Kansas State. This might be a long second half of the season for the Horned Frogs.
