Week 8 brought a lot of ups and downs and as a result, some change in the Top 25. Who are the biggest winners and losers in college football?

This week brought some shocking wins and losses and for sure a lot of excitement.

Before we get into big winners and losers, we welcome Iowa State and Wake Forest into the rankings and say goodbye to Washington. The Huskies are struggling big time to stay consistent and that is killing them. Iowa State could shock some people in the Big 12 and Wake Forest has a chance to play spoiler in the ACC.

On that note, let’s talk winners and losers, starting with the latter

Loser: Wisconsin Badgers (No. 6 to No. 13)

The Badgers are probably the biggest loser this season, dropping down seven spots to No. 13 after sitting just outside of that coveted Top 4 .They play Ohio State in the coming week and it was looking like the Badgers had a chance to move into that top of the top if they could knock off the Buckeyes. However, a lazy performance against Illinois proved to be their downfall as a last-second loss pushed them out of Playoff contention.

Loser: Michigan (No. 16 to No. 19)

It was a close loss Penn State, a team that is sitting just outside that top four. Is it a loss to be disappointed in? To an extent, sure. It is one of those “quality losses”. Many people wouldn’t be too upset with that, especially when the Wolverines pushed hard for a comeback. Did they lose in disappointing fashion? Yes, and that is what makes this fall all the sadder.

Loser: Boise State (No. 14 to No. 22)

After a shocking loss to BYU on Saturday night, the Boise State Broncos fell from No. 14 to No. 22. Are they out of New Year’s Six contention now? Possibly. This was an extremely shocking loss for me for sure. BYU isn’t the greatest, but they have perfected playing spoiler and that is what happened to the previously undefeated Broncos.
