It was a full slate of games of Big 12 football this week. Who rose? Who fell? Be sure to check back every week for your Big 12 power rankings.

“Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.”

The tie that binds the Big 12 is mediocrity. There are two separations in the conference. The first is No. 10 and No. 9. Kansas is clearly the worst team in the Big 12 even after scoring 48 against Texas. They just don’t have the bodies to compete in the conference. Oklahoma is by far the best team in the Big 12.

Then you just get these clusters. You have clusters of bad, and clusters of meh. Coin flips and rock, paper, scissors couldn’t break these clusters apart. So here at Big 12 headquarters located in an undisclosed location, or where Tom Osborne drives a tractor on a farm with Harry Hogge from Days of Thunder and still coaches Nebraska with Tommie Frazier and time doesn’t exist the tie has made a miraculous comeback.

This week in the Big 12, we had teams with firsts, teams with worsts and the only thing falling off in Norman is Schooner Sooner.

As awesome as it is for coaches to stay at programs like Bobby Bowden did or Kyle Whittingham has, if Baylor and Iowa State want that, they better pay the Matts. Matt Rhule and Matt Campbell, respectively, that is.

With all do respect to Barry Switzer and “hangin’ half a hundred on ’em”, here are this week’s Big 12 power rankings.
