All eyes were fixated on Happy Valley on Saturday for a Big Ten football showdown between Penn State and Michigan but an earlier upset stole headlines.

It was one of the most entertaining weekends in college football this season and the Big Ten was at the center of it all.

After Ohio State kicked things off with a beatdown on Northwestern Friday night, everyone shifted to the game of the week taking place in White Out conditions. But little did everyone know that the biggest upset (so far) this season would be taking place in Champaign, Ill., as Illinois fought back against Wisconsin and kicked a game-winning field goal as time expire to hand the Badgers their first loss of the season.

Once everything settled down, everyone was fixated on Penn State and Michigan, as the Nittany Lions picked up their second consecutive win over a ranked opponent.

Other games this past weekend include Minnesota beating Rutgers to remain undefeated and Iowa and Indiana picking up victories over the fading teams of Maryland and Purdue.

Week 9 should be just as exciting as Ohio State hosts Wisconsin, Penn State goes on the road to battle Michigan State and Michigan finishes off their non-conference schedule with a heavyweight bout against Notre Dame.

But before all the action, let’s check out the updated power rankings for Big Ten football.
