The Virginia Cavaliers travel to Cardinal Stadium to face Louisville football on Saturday. Here are three bold predictions for the big game.

Louisville hosts Virginia fresh off a loss to the No. 1 Clemson Tigers. Virginia comes into this game after a blow out win against Duke. This is a critical game for both teams as they gear up for the home stretch of the season.

The Cavaliers are looking to keep up their lead in the ACC Coastal division. Louisville looks to keep its slim bowl hopes alive under first-year head coach Scott Satterfield.

If Louisville wants a chance in this game, it has to play better defense. The Cardinals are giving up almost 40 points, on average, in their last five games. They have only 14 sacks and five interceptions this year. The biggest issue with Louisville’s defense is tackling. They have to get guys on the ground.

The Cavaliers began to find playmakers offensively other than Bryce Perkins. Although the offense flows through him, he needs help especially in the running game. Wayne Taulpapa is their leading rusher, but Perkins has 30 more carries. That means defenses don’t respect the running back. They key on Perkins when Virginia does their option read plays whether he intends to pitch or not.

This should be a fun one in Louisville, and here are three bold predictions for the game.
