Oklahoma football hits the road to face a surprisingly tough Kansas State team on Saturday afternoon, but can we expect an upset in Manhattan?

Is there a team in college football that can stop the Oklahoma Sooners? This team is just rolling through opponents and they look to continue that on Saturday afternoon in Manhattan.

A major key to the success has been the emergence of Jalen Hurts, an Alabama transfer. Like the previous two quarterbacks in Norman, Hurts could be a Heisman winner. He is one of the favorites to win the award and Lincoln Riley is now being dubbed “the quarterback whisperer” because of his success with that position in such a short time.

Before Hurts can even think about the Heisman, he has to lead the Sooners to the Big 12 title and that won’t happen unless he can lead them past Kansas State in Week 9.

What can we expect from Saturday afternoon’s game?

3. Kennedy Brooks rushes for 150 yards

There’s no doubt about it, Kennedy Brooks is one of the most underrated running backs in the nation and he’s only a sophomore. He broke out as a freshman with the Sooners, rushing for 1,056 yards and 12 touchdowns on over 8.0 yards per carry.

Brooks has carried that momentum over into this season, but he just doesn’t get a ton of carries. In fact, he has just 45 touches at this point in the season which puts him on pace to finish with even less than he had all of last year. He will touch the ball enough to reach 150 yards in this one, his highest output on the season.

That will also be good enough to get him over 500 yards on the season and put him on track to potentially reach that 1,000-yard mark for the season year in a row.

Brooks will continue to make a name for himself and a 150-yard showing against a team that struggles against the run will help matters.
