1. Clemson is making its case for No. 1

Backs were turned on Clemson maybe too early. After a slow start to the season which resulted in a near-upset loss to North Carolina, everyone counted the Tigers out as title favorites.

Sure, Clemson would be the top team in the ACC at the end of the season because the second-best team probably wouldn’t even be ranked. Right now, Wake Forest is the second-best team in the ACC and that’s not good enough to challenge a team like Clemson.

The Tigers were counted out but that seems like a premature decision for most fans and national pundits. After being dropped down to No. 3 and now No. 4, Clemson looks like a team that might be contending for that No. 1 spot. It has dominated opponents for a few weeks now, beating Florida State, Louisville and Boston College handily — two of those teams are above average.

While their resume won’t be quite as good as the rest of the College Football Playoff contenders’, the Tigers are taking care of business with style points.
