Indiana football picked up a road win in Lincoln with a 38-31 win against the Cornhuskers. Here are three takeaways from the game.

The Indiana Hoosiers are going bowling for the first time since 2016 after their 38-31 win against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on the road in Lincoln.

Backup quarterback — and last year’s starter — Peyton Ramsey threw for a career-high 351 yards in the win. This was his third start this year filling in for incumbent Michael Penix Jr. Beaten out in spring and summer camp, Ramsey decided to stay in Bloomington, and it paid off with his performance on Saturday.

Ramsey’s favorite target on the day, Whop Philyor, had 14 catches.

The Huskers, playing without starting quarterback Adrian Martinez, got good performances from both Luke McCaffery and Noah Vedral. The former came in after Vedral left the game with an undisclosed injury.

Coach Tom Allen was emotional in an interview after the game saying it was a tough week. He went on to say he appreciated how much every member of his team loved one another.

Here are three additional takeaways from Saturday’s game.
