Week 9 brought with it some shocking college football upsets and a new and well-deserved No. 1 team. Who are AP Poll’s biggest winners and losers?

Before we get to the big names, we welcome three teams into the rankings this week.

After upsetting Oklahoma, which we will talk about soon, Kansas State debuts at No. 22. Memphis won an extremely close one against a two-win Tulsa team and moved back to No. 24. San Diego State also won a close one over a two-win UNLV team and moved to No. 25 on the season.

On that note, let’s start with the biggest winner of all — our new No. 1 — the LSU Tigers.

Winner: LSU Tigers (No. 2 to No. 1)

Is this that big of a jump? Not really, but to jump an Alabama team that won in a big way this week is something to be proud of. If anything is to be said though, it is that LSU has more than earned this spot. With wins over Florida, Auburn and a once ranked Texas team, this team has shown that they can be the top team in the nation and can hang around with anybody.

After a bye week next week, the showdown that we are all waiting for comes to fruition- LSU heads to Tuscaloosa to show who really deserves that No. 1 spot. I can promise you that one will live up to the billing and then some. LSU has some questions on defense at times, but Alabama may be without Tua — a Heisman front runner — and with no Jalen Hurts to turn to anymore it may be in the hands of Mac Jones.

Congratulations, LSU, we’re all hoping you hold onto that spot.
