Oklahoma State football fans have reason to be cheerful after a Week 9 road victory against Iowa State. Let’s overreact to the 34-27 Cowboys win.

For OSU fans, getting the chance to spoil Iowa State’s Homecoming celebrations was a welcome respite after the previous two games, losses to Texas Tech and Baylor.

The Cowboys’ offensive playmakers showed up: Chuba Hubbard rushed for more than 100 yards again and Tylan Wallace broke out several highlight-reel grabs en route to an eight-catch, 131-yard receiving day. Spencer Sanders threw for 249 yards and a pair of scores while only turning over the ball once, after being plagued with turnovers in the past two contests.

The defense stepped up as well, intercepting Iowa State’s Brock Purdy with the game on the line in the fourth quarter. With the win, OSU moved to 5-3 (2-3) for the season.

For OSU fans, it was precisely the “rebound” win that gives reason for hope looking at the last four game of the season. A continually improving poise of Sanders and a defense capable of takeaways should make OSU capable of winning its next game, against TCU in Week 10.

Let’s now overreact to OSU’s Week 9 win against Iowa State.
