The Skinny
If Louisiana Tech wins the C-USA, the New Orleans Bowl would be a big winner. The Sun Belt champion, projected to be Appalachian State, automatically earns a bid to New Orleans unless it is selected for the New Year’s Six, which it should be noted that the Mountaineers are very much in the thick of the race in the group-of-five. The C-USA allows its champion to choose the bowl it wants to play in. If the Bulldogs take the crown, they would almost certainly want the home field advantage of playing in New Orleans, setting up a champion vs. champion matchup.
Who wants to win the MAC? The conference remains an absolute cluster, one that makes the ACC Coastal division look tame. I think I’ve had a different team projected to win the MAC every week this season. No team has separated itself from the pack as the calendar flips to November. Currently, I’m projecting Ohio to take the conference on the strength of a road win over Ball State, which I had projected as the conference champion a week ago.
