It was quite the week of Big 12 football. Both Iowa State and Oklahoma fell victim to upsets as did Texas. How does that shake up the top?

right round, round, round”

Here at the Big 12 power rankings headquarters at the roundabout where Bevo and Scooner Sooner chase one another we respect the round robin format of the Big 12. It’s not always a great way to get a team into the playoff, but if you win the Big 12 you’ve played everyone in the conference.

There’s no ducking opponents here. You play every team every year. Hear that, Power Five? What a novel concept. This week in the Big 12 round robin, some teams got, well, got.

Scooner wasn’t upended at Manhattan; it was the actual Sooners. Skylar Thompson looked like Michael Bishop reincarnated. The Cowboys wrangled a Cyclone at Jack Trice. Pitt Special my Big 12 behind, how about a blocked game-winning field goal, fumbled return to set up another game winning field to win the game. That’s exactly how Texas Tech lost to the Kansas Jayhawks.

Are Horned Frogs poisonous? Well, then explain how the Texas Longhorns lost to TCU in metaphor form because I can’t explain it any other way. What? What’s this Google you speak of? Both Baylor and West Virginia won the bye week in rout-like fashion.

So with all due respect to Barry Switzer and “Hangin half-a hundred on ’em” here are your Big 12 power rankings heading into Week 10.
