2. 2004 USC Trojans

The 2004 USC Trojans were not just one of the best college football teams ever, they also had one of the best football players ever in Reggie Bush. He finished fourth in the Heisman voting that season, but won the award a year later. and while every game was the Reggie Bush Show, plenty of other Trojans starred in major roles.

Matt Leinart was the starting quarterback — and Heisman Trophy winner — for the 13-0 National Championship Trojans. And Bush’s running mate in the backfield was LenDale White, who totaled over 1,100 yards and scored 15 times on the ground. Dwayne Jarrett and Steve Smith contributed in the passing attack, accruing over 97 catches and over 1,500 receiving yards combined.

Lofa Tatupu and Keith Rivers patrolled the second-level of the USC defense that allowed just 13 points per game to opposing offenses — good enough for third in the country.

So while the offense was must-see TV, the defense did more than their fair share of the lifting. Both Bush and Leinart were juniors during the 2005 campaign, so the chance of them returning for one last go would surely make this team an easy choice if you’re like me and played dynasty mode. Even if they were senior, though, how could you pass up on playing with Reggie Bush?
