Boise State Football: 3 keys to victory vs. San Jose State in Week 10
Boise State football faces a surprisingly tough San Jose State team on the road in Week 10. Will the Broncos be able to escape on Saturday?
Boise State Football has now positioned itself on the outside looking in for a New Year’s Six bowl. After losing to BYU on the road just two weeks ago, the Broncos NY6 hopes took a big hit. Credit the BYU Cougars for being able to take down the Broncos with their third-string quarterback and a banged-up defense. However, the Broncos had injuries of their own at the quarterback position.
Quarterback Hank Bachmeier, who was knocked out of the game vs. Hawaii on Oct. 12 was not available for the Broncos against BYU and could potentially be out against SJSU as well. Backup quarterback Chase Cord filled in nicely for the most part against Hawaii and BYU, but the Broncos surely would like their freshman phenom back in action after a bye week.
San Jose State has been sneaky good in its 2019 campaign. Starting the season off 4-4 and getting wins against Arkansas and Army have the Spartans excited for the future. The man leading that charge for the Spartans is quarterback Josh Love. He has 2,355 passing yards and 15 touchdowns but has most impressively been able to protect the football. With only three interceptions, Love has put his team in a position to win all year.
The Broncos have a tough task on the road this coming Saturday. They have used last week’s bye to get healthy and regroup after their loss. We will see if the bye week is enough to get past a pesky Spartan team.
Here are three keys to victory for Boise State.
