Boise State Football: San Jose State will be tough test in Week 10
Boise State football heads to San Jose this week in an important Mountain West matchup. Will the Broncos keep their NY6 hopes alive in Week 10?
Boise State Football and San Jose State matchup this weekend in what could be one of the most surprisingly good games this year. Boise State is coming off of a bye the week after they lost to BYU and dropped all the way down to No. 22 in the AP Poll. Meanwhile, the Spartans dropped the Army Knights 34-29 in an impressive showing on the road.
Both teams tout great quarterbacks that have been some of the best in the Mountain West. Josh Love will be the head guy for the Spartans on Saturday night, throwing for 2,300 yards in eight games and being a huge bright spot.
On the other side, we have Hank Bachmeier who has missed some time but should be back in action for the Broncos road game Saturday night.
We will also see one of the nations leading pass rushers take the field for the Broncos. With 9.5 sacks headed into Saturday night, Curtis Weaver has been extraordinary for Boise State. It is no mystery how the Broncos have been able to allow just 120 yards on the ground a game with Weaver on the defensive line.
This game should really be closer than people think and the result could shock a lot of the college football world. Double-digit favorites Boise State will have to clean up a lot of the mistakes with turnovers and penalties that they have had recently to take care of the Spartans on the road.
Here’s where to watch this Saturday night:
Date: Saturday, Nov. 2
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Location: San Jose, Calif.

Keys to Victory
Boise State has been able to gain almost 470 yards of total offense a game in their first seven games. The only problem that the Broncos have had is finishing drives in the red zone. With so many yards the Broncos have only been able to score 35 points and game and have had trouble getting into the endzone on key possessions. Look for Boise State to come out of the bye week trying to fix this issue to take down the Spartans.
Josh Love is going to be at the forefront of every discussion for the Spartans. A contender to win the Mountain West first-team quarterback spot, Love has been exceptional for the Spartans. This game will be all about the other side of the ball though. The defense will have to step up and stop the Broncos’ young offense. Watch for the Spartans to bring pressure on the young Broncos quarterback and cause trouble.

Prediction
Boise State is favorites in this game for a reason. They have high hopes going into week 10 and have a real shot at playing in an NY6 bowl game as long as the AAC canibalizes each other in the games to come in conference play. We should see Boise State look sharp out of their bye week and take down the Spartans on the road. They will have trouble all day long trying to contain Josh Love, but will ultimately be able to bring enough pressure to win on Saturday night.
Final Score: Boise State 38, San Jose State 24
