Washington State football has struggled to find its way in 2019. Despite the rough start to the year, the Cougars could end on a high note.

The Cougars came into the year with high hopes, looking to build off of their incredible 2018 campaign. The first eight games have not gone the way that they saw them going, but the Cougs still have a ton to play for. Just two wins away from bowl eligibility, Washington State is looking to end the 2019 season on a high note.

Washington State’s record may be a bit deceiving to some for starters. At 4-4 on the year, you would think that the Cougars have been less than competitive so far. That assumption would be incorrect. The Cougar’s last three losses have come from three ranked opponents. The last two games the Cougs have lost by a whopping seven points combined.

The close losses have killed the Washington State momentum for a Pac-12 championship. All is not lost in Pullman though, the Cougars have four games in November that could turn their season around. WSU has passed the hardest part of their season and now goes against three teams at the beginning of November that is at the bottom at the Pac-12.

If the Cougars can get past California, Stanford, and Oregon State, they will set themselves up for a big Apple Cup matchup. Most likely still out of the conference race, both Apple Cup opponents will be playing for in-state supremacy. The Nov. 29 matchup in Seattle will be the sixth time Mike Leach will be a part of the Apple Cup. Leach is unfortunately 0-5 in those matchups but will look to turn it around this year.

Here are three bold predictions for the Cougars in November.
