No, College GameDay isn’t headed to Jacksonville to host Georgia vs. Florida in the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” but that doesn’t mean this week won’t be worth watching.

For the second time this season, GameDay is paying homage to the little guy. The crew is headed to Memphis for a monster matchup between the Tigers and undefeated SMU Mustangs. This American Athletic Conference matchup is for all the marbles — at least for now — as the Tigers and Mustangs are battling it out for positioning in the race for the New Year’s Six.

While SMU is undefeated, it’s highly unlikely the playoff committee seriously considers it as an option and the same goes for 7-1 Memphis.

That doesn’t mean this game isn’t huge and potentially the biggest game of the week outside of Jacksonville.

The crew will be headed down to Tennessee, putting the spotlight on one of the most underrated conferences in the country. If you’re looking to learn more about the Group of Five, this is a good game to start with and it might end up being the most exciting game of the week.
