Oklahoma State Football: 3 takeaways from big win over TCU in Week 10
1. Oklahoma State is going to be a problem in 2020
This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys were starting a freshman quarterback, had a sophomore in the backfield and had one proven receiver. The defense was a question mark, but if the first nine games of the year have proven anything about this team, it’s that the Cowboys will be a problem for the rest of the Big 12 in 2020.
Although Tylan Wallace’s Oklahoma State career may be over with the NFL calling, the Cowboys return plenty of talent for next season.
Spencer Sanders is quickly becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the conference and he can do a little of everything. He didn’t get a ton of opportunities to throw on Saturday, but when he has a healthy receiving corps, he’s dangerous. Plus, he has the best running back in the nation behind him in Chuba Hubbard.
Oklahoma State became bowl eligible in the first game of November and they still have a chance to win three more with an upset over Oklahoma in Bedlam. If the Cowboys can go 9-3, that will be a monumental building block for the 2020 campaign — a possible Big 12 title year.
