2. Juwan Johnson is becoming a focal point on offense

For anyone who watched the Oregon spring game, it was fairly obvious that Justin Herbert and Juwan Johnson had a solid connection. The two hadn’t spent a ton of time with each other as Johnson had transferred over from Penn State and looked to be a focal point of the Ducks’ offense. That hadn’t quite happened before October.

In fact, he had been fighting through injuries to start the season and didn’t put up any stats. He finally got his chance against Colorado, catching two passes for 36 yards and appeared against Washington but didn’t catch a pass. And then he had a breakout game, of sorts, against Washington State, catching four passes for 64 yards, including a clutch one late in the game to set up a field goal.

Johnson got another chance on Saturday against the Trojans, catching seven passes for 106 yards and his first three touchdowns as a Duck.

If Herbert and Johnson continue to prove they have that undeniable connection in the passing game, Oregon’s offense is going to be that much scarier moving toward the postseason.
