21. player. 11/9 at Texas. Kansas State Wildcats. 823. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. won 38-10 at Kansas

Kansas State followed up their statement upset of Oklahoma with no letdown whatsoever, going to Lawrence and toppling the rival Jayhawks 38-10 to improve to 6-2 overall. After entering the AP Top 25 for Week 10 at No. 22, the Wildcats will find a spot in the College Football Playoff selection committee rankings when they are released on Tuesday.

Skylar Thompson went just 9-of-16 for 129 passing yards, but it wasn’t his arm that really killed the Jayhawks. Rather, Thompson drove in the dagger with his legs, leading the Wildcats in rushing with 127 yards and three touchdowns on the ground to pace the blowout on the road. Harry Trotter added 92 rushing yards and a score, Tyler Burns went for 58 yards and a touchdown, and Kansas State finished the day with 342 rushing yards as a team.

Now the Wildcats have a chance to further consolidate their position among the dark-horses in the Big 12 race when they go to Austin in Week 11 to face Texas. West Virginia, Texas Tech, and Iowa State all await on the schedule as well. If Oklahoma loses once more and Kansas State wins out, Chris Klieman’s team will be playing in the Big 12 championship game in his first season in the FBS ranks.
