won 52-42 at San Jose State. Boise State Broncos. player. 895. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 11/9 vs. Wyoming. 19

Boise State was at risk of dropping a second straight game when they traveled to the Bay Area for a Saturday night showdown against San Jose State. The Spartans took a 24-17 into the locker room at halftime, and over the course of the game San Jose State actually outgained Boise State by more than 30 yards on offense. But the Broncos pulled off a second-half comeback to run away with the 52-42 victory in California.

George Holani had a huge game for the Broncos, running the ball 28 times for 126 yards and four rushing touchdowns. Andrew Van Buren and Chase Cord added rushing touchdowns as Boise State finished with 253 rushing yards and a half-dozen ground scores as a team. Hank Bachmeier had a less exciting day at quarterback, as he completed 13 of his 17 passes for 213 yards but threw an interception along the way.

Boise State is the Mountain West’s best chance to get into a New Year’s Six bowl, and they will be really well situated if they make it to the MWC championship game at 11-1 and get the opportunity to face an 11-1 San Diego State team. Wyoming comes to the Smurf Turf next weekend hoping to spoil the party.
