Florida State Football: Top 5 candidates to replace Willie Taggart
By Kyle Grondin
Willie Taggart was let go by Florida State football after a tough loss to Miami. With a program in turmoil, who can right the ship for the Seminoles?
Surprise to no one, but Willie Taggart was unceremoniously fired from Florida State University. The writing was on the wall for this one, as Taggart’s tenure with the Seminoles had begun to fall apart before his eyes.
Florida State had been a train wreck under Taggart, and it was clear that a change was coming. But having it in the middle of the season leaves the Seminoles with a great opportunity to get ahead of everyone else in the coaching search.
Despite Taggart’s struggle, and the uncomfortable leave of Jimbo Fisher, Florida State University is still one of the biggest jobs in college football. Despite the major buyout of Taggart’s contract, you can bet the Seminoles will be big game hunting in this one, even if they strike out (they aren’t going to even bother with Urban Meyer, so don’t bother looking for my take).
There are other great candidates, such as Dave Clawson and Josh Heupel, but here are the five best candidates to be the next head coach at Florida State University.
