Oklahoma State Football: 3 overreactions to Week 10 win over TCU
By John Scimeca
Oklahoma State football won its second game in a row with a 34-27 victory over TCU. Let’s overreact to the Cowboys’ sixth win of the 2019 season.
The biggest storyline heading into Oklahoma State’s Week 10 home date with TCU was the loss of All-American wide receiver Tylan Wallace. The junior from Fort Worth reportedly suffered a non-contact torn ACL during Wednesday practice. Head coach Mike Gundy discussed with reporters how much the young man’s season-ending injury weighed on his mind throughout game preparation.
How would the Cowboys, then, replace Wallace’s big-play ability against TCU? After eight games, Wallace finished the 2019 season with 53 catches and 903 receiving yards, including eight touchdowns.
Would the Cowboys be able to replicate their newfound success from last week’s road triumph against Iowa State? After losing three of four games to open Big 12 play, OSU responded to its doubters in convincing fashion on the road against the Cyclones. Week 10 provided the opportunity for the Cowboys to maintain their momentum.
Freshman quarterback Spencer Sanders, too, has continued making plays both on the ground and through the air while taking better care of the ball. He finished with 19 rushes for 88 yards, and completed 9-of-15 passes for 158 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Read on for three overreactions to OSU’s 34-27 win against the Horned Frogs.
