We know what the Aggies are now. They are a team that can beat teams that are not as good as they are, lose to teams that are better and have good games with teams they are even with. The Arkansas game was an outlier. Look, it makes sense, you give a man $75 million dollars and that bag has certain expectations that come with it. However, no matter how much you pay, it doesn’t buy recruits — well, it’s not supposed to buy recruits. They still don’t have SEC level depth. Their running back and offensive line situations reflect that.

Dan Mullen is playing with house money right now in Gainsville. If you had the Gators at 7-2 this season, you borrowed Doc’s Delorean and went back to the future and got their record for this season. Mullen doesn’t have his full complement of players, especially at quarterback. They fell short at the Cocktail Party, but they’ve had one heck of a season. Their last three games look winnable, and Mullen could be on his way to a 10-win season. What could be better? Oh, I know, Joey Gatewood transferring to Florida would be.

The Auburn Tigers have been impressive with true freshman Bo Nix this season. It doesn’t hurt to have one of the best defensive units in all of college football as well. The Tigers will be tested this weekend hosting the Georgia Bulldogs on The Plains. They get their annual paycheck scrimmage against Samford before they host the Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl. Auburn might not be good enough to win the SEC or go to the playoff, but with games against the Bulldogs and the Tide, they might be good enough to spoil it for someone else.
