Week 11 is huge in terms of the chase for the College Football Playoff. What teams will be on upset alert during this pivotal Saturday?

The first set of College Football Playoff rankings were released this week. There were some surprises and perhaps some snubs, but we now have a baseline in the final month of the regular season. It will be a mad dash for the top four spots in addition to filling out the rest of the New Year’s Six bowl field.

Week 10 was not the best in terms of quality matchups, primarily due to many teams having a bye week. It also was not a good week for upset picks as we were skunked for the third time this season. Kansas State, Oregon and Wake Forest blew away their competition.

Georgia had a close game versus Florida but pulled it off to keep their playoff hopes alive. Notre Dame, clearly still hungover from their beat down loss at Michigan, needed a touchdown in the final minute to hold off an upset bid from Virginia Tech.

Week 11 is a much better slate of games. Of course there is the battle in Tuscaloosa between Alabama and LSU. Don’t sleep on the match-up in Minneapolis between Penn State and Minnesota. This is the first time in the AP poll era, dating back to 1936, that two games will take place on the same day involving both teams with a record of 8-0 or better.

This Saturday will be an historic day in college football’s 150 year history. It will also have a significant impact on the national landscape. Let’s get to the upset picks with the point spreads provided courtesy of the Action Network.
