Baylor football is looking to keep its perfect season alive on Saturday afternoon against TCU but will the Bears overcome a hostile environment?

Matt Rhule is working some magic in Waco. The third-year head coach has turned the program around after going just 1-11 two years ago. The Bears went bowling last season and are now 8-0 to start the 2019 campaign with hopes of a Big 12 title and College Football Playoff berth.

It’s safe to say the program is ahead of schedule on being “back” but it faces a tough opponent in Week 11 at TCU.

The Horned Frogs have had two one-score losses in the past three games, but they upset Texas a couple of weeks ago and have found their quarterback of the future. This team isn’t competing for titles right now, but a bowl berth is on the line and so is confidence for the young roster.

What can we expect from Saturday afternoon’s game in Fort Worth?

3. Epic quarterback duel ensues

A few weeks ago, I would have said that TCU had no quarterback worthy of competing in the Big 12 on its roster. I actually stated something similar to that after watching the Horned Frogs’ offense sputter in a loss, but the rise of Max Duggan under center has been real.

The freshman quarterback has truly broken out and has over 1,400 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season with just four picks. And he’s a threat to run.

On the other side, Baylor is led by one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the country in Charlie Brewer. He is in his third year as the starter and has been one consistent for Matt Rhule. Oh, and he’s in the midst of a career-year, following up his 3,000-yard, 19-touchdown sophomore season with 2,143 yards and 14 touchdown passes on a career-best 68 percent completion rate through eight games. And he’s leading Baylor to a perfect season thus far.

Baylor and TCU are going to showcase two of the better quarterbacks in the conference and this will end up being the best duel in the Big 12 season to date.

Both will pass for over 300 yards with at least three touchdowns each and they’ll be playing the game of “anything you can do, I can do better”.
